Proposal to Increase 911 Fee
The Cache Valley Dispatch Center dispatches all 1st responder (police/fire) calls in Cache Valley, Utah State University and the Utah Highway Patrol. The following are reasons for the proposed rate increase:
- Income/expenses narrowing (only $8k surplus last year)
- They haven’t had a rate increase for 23 Years (except for the $1 fee adopted in 2013 for radio upgrades).
- Average Inflationary Rate of 14% for the past two years
- People/Technology/Equipment increasingly expensive
- Increased wages/benefits to keep and secure employees
- More Customers, more calls but no increase in personnel
(2011 – 39,000+ calls dispatched in 2024 – 58,000+ calls dispatched)
They are proposing the following increase to 911 residential fees over the next five years:
- 2025 – 10% increase on the current $3 dollar rate for 2025 ($.30 Increase per month/per residence which would increase the rate to $3.30 per month).

- 2027 – 3% increase ($10.1 cent increase/$3.50 per month)
