Waste Management Safety Tip – October: Teach kids that it’s okay to watch trash and recycling trucks from a safe distance of at least 15 feet and remind them not to play around or near carts. When teaching children to stay visible, a good reminder is: If they can’t see the driver’s eyes, they cannot be certain the driver is able to see them or their pets

Waste Management Summer Clean Up Reminder

If you are doing end of summer cleanups around the house and yard, remember to never put garden hoses, rope, wire, chains or wire clothing hangers into curbside recycling carts. Donate reusable items or put these materials in the trash. If mistakenly put into recycling, they can get wound up in the sorting equipment at the recycling center and create both safety issues for workers and damage to the machinery.
